NC Insurance Rate Bureau Rate Increase Application

​Recently you may have received a notice regarding an application the NC Insurance Rate Bureau filed with the NC Dept of Insurance (NC DOI) to get approval to raise the homeowner insurance rates for properties in coastal areas by 30%. Some insurance companies, but not all, use Bureau rates. You may want to ask your individual insurance agent if your insurance company uses the Bureau rates. This increase might apply to you and would be huge by any standard if it does.
