My wife, Charlene, and I purchased our home on Pintail Drive in January 2015 after having vacationed in the area since the early 1980's. We rented the house during the Summer until we both were retired in July 2020. We moved here from Northern Virginia at that time and have lived full-time in Carolina Dunes since.
I retired from the Alexandria, VA Police Department in November 2014 with almost 32 years of service, then accepted a position with the Alexandria City Public Schools as Director of Safety and Security. I retired from there in July 2020. I have a BS degree from George Mason University and did graduate study at George Washington University. I am a veteran of the US Army. I look forward to assisting wherever I can with our community. |
Mona NashidBoard MemberThe Outer Banks has a special meaning to our hearts, we used to spend vacations there since long time ago while residing in Fairfax, VA. In 2009, we acquired an old property on the sound, it has been demolished and rebuild in a Mediterranean style to become our family dream home, a real relaxing and healing place with a wonderful garden, which I love and spend long hours tending to it and to the surrounding environment, including the nearby public beach. Duck has tons of Nature treasures, we do our best in the simplest ways to protect it and to boost its value. It is an honor to volunteer and serve our community.

I grew up in South Carolina, spending most of my summers at the beach. While in college in North Carolina, I discovered the outer banks and have brought my husband and two daughters here for over 30 years. Although we live full time in Chevy Chase, Maryland, we have been fortunate enough to have a vacation home in Carolina Dunes for approximately 20 years, recently completing a new home to accommodate our growing family. We are now bringing out two grandsons here, and hope they will learn to love our community as much as we do. I am happy to be serving of the board of CDA, and welcome any comments or suggestions from our homeowners.
