Recent communication from the Town of Duck regarding beach erosion:
Dear Nourishment Area Oceanfront Owners and HOA contacts, Recent winter storms and nor’easters have caused significant erosion in the beach nourishment area (just north of the Army Corps of Engineers Property to Skimmer Way), creating steep drop-offs and sand escarpments in several locations. To improve safety and access, the Town has hired a contractor to restore and grade beach access pathways, improving routes to the flat sand beach within the nourishment area only. This work began today and is expected to take several days; however, with another round of northeast winds forecasted beginning Monday the 23rd, grading work may extend into the week of Easter. Our top priority is to address community access points and the most severe drop-offs first. We appreciate your patience as we work to improve beach conditions while coordinating with ongoing weather impacts.

Dear Carolina Dunes Owners,
The annual Association meeting will be conducted on Saturday, April 4th starting at 9 AM. The meeting will be held at Sunset Grille, and we will serve light pastries and coffee/juice. Please join us if you can. For owners who can't physically attend, you can join the meeting via a Zoom call. Details for the Zoom call will be provided later. Attached is the draft agenda. Please note the change in officers being nominated. I've served as your president for about 20 years, and it's now time to pass the officer leadership baton to new owners. I would like to remain on the Board but play a policy role rather than an operational role. Lastly, Rosemary and I will again be hosting a community social at our house (1356 Duck Road) at 5 PM on April 4th. Join us if you can! RSVP to [email protected] if you think you might attend. That will give us a rough estimate of the # of people. I hope to see or hear you on the 4th. |
